Welcome to the Circular Climbing Collective

Welcome to the Circular Climbing Collective

Climbing has become a home to many over the past years. With the Olympics creating greater popularity than ever before, it is common to meet new people with every visit to a gym or crag.

We believe the communities formed within climbing provide a wealth of positive mentality, alongside the raw enjoyment from the activity itself. With problem solving rooted fundamentally in the sport, climbing encourages us to practise skills that directly support our regular day to day lives. This combination is why we see climbing as the perfect environment to facilitate a peer-to-peer support collective for mental health.

Both founders of CCC encounter conversations around mental health regularly when climbing. Opening up to each other whilst approaching the seemingly ‘manageable’ problems in the gym, is how the founders of CCC first truly connected. Initially CCC will run regular fortnightly sessions at The Climbing Academy’s Mothership bouldering gym in Bristol. We have plans for outdoor sessions, trips, events and social activities in the future.

Whether you are a climber or not, we see the space that exists around climbing as a natural home to facilitate positive support for your mental health. We would like to invite you to join us, in being a part of creating a safe space, no matter your level of contribution or skill.

Nobody should ever feel isolated, and there is always somebody who will relate to your story. ‘If there’s one, there’s two.’ The New Normal

About CCC

CCC is a climbing collective that focuses on mental health peer to peer support. In collaboration with The New Normal Charity, we are here to create a safe positive space where climbers and non-climbers can connect, share and better understand their mental health. Sessions will run fortnightly on Mondays from 6pm till 8pm at the TCA Mothership run by our trained facilitators. Check out our instagram or contact us if you have any questions!
